Initial Fieldwork Locates Exciting Copper-Gold Targets at Vangma
In early April, geochemical soil sampling, grab sampling and geological mapping commenced in the northern area of the Vangma tenement ahead of the rainy season in Laos, starting mid to late May. We have already confirmed that the Boundary target extends south into Vangma with gossan grab samples returning values up to 4.7g/t Au and 0.16% Cu. Soil sampling there has also confirmed strongly anomalous gold values in the gossan area, as well as 300m to the east of the gossans. Preliminary elevated pXRF Cu results from the soils coincide with the anomalous Au assay values.
In an entirely different area, 2.5km to the SE of Boundary, mapping has revealed a circular area 1km in diameter of leached cap rock (protolith not yet determined) and a recognizable, adjacent >250m wide diorite body. Grab samples from the cap rocks in particular are highly anomalous with values of up to 0.12% Cu and 47ppm Mo, and are supported by elevated pXRF soil Cu values.
To the north of the leached cap, chlorite-pyrite altered andesites and phyllites host northerly trending, fault-related quartz veins containing pyrite with chalcopyrite and malachite. These have a trend and physical resemblance to the high-grade Spine and Palm intersections along strike to the north in Sokdee.
The sheer volume of fertile andesite/porphyry lithology is far greater at Vangma than in the Sokdee tenement, so stay tuned for further positive news!
Annamite Update on Vangma Project – Mapping & Soil Sampling
After signing on 29 March 2024 a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with DDC, Annamite has started exploration activities spanning on the 138 sq.km tenement, focusing on uncovering copper, gold, and base metal potentials.
The focus of April’s endeavours is on the north-eastern sector of the Vangma tenement, characterized by expansive volcanic formations predominantly composed of andesite. Regional soil sampling initiative, conducted first on an 800m x 400m grid, commenced in earnest, with a parallel emphasis on regional geological mapping. Preliminary assays utilizing Portable X-ray Fluorescence (pXRF) provided initial insights, supplementing subsequent laboratory analyses by ALS in May. About 106 soil samples were collected, along with 5 duplicates, totalling 111 samples. In tandem with soil sampling, rock chip collection efforts have commenced, with 8 samples procured from the Vangma north-eastern sector.
Looking ahead, the exploration blueprint for May and beyond envisages comprehensive infill sampling, targeting the Boundary and Vangma northwest and northeast initial anomalies. Additionally, a second stage of regional soil sampling with 800m x 400m grid is slated, covering the middle swath of the Vangma tenement.
With an eye on preliminary soil anomalies and geological mapping outcomes, Annamite’s exploration team remains poised to unveil potential mineralization targets in the ensuing months in Vangma.
Annamite Resources Laos Co., Ltd. (“ARL”) is pleased to announce that it has signed on March 29, 2024 an agreement with Douangchaleun Development Construction Sole Co., Ltd. (“DDC”) to partner in exploring the Vangma project in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (“Laos”).
Covering an area of 148 sq.km., the Vangma project is located 90 km north of Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The region, which has abundant water, is well served by road, rail, and the existing power grid. Vangma is located immediately to the south of Annamite’s Sokdee project which contains the newly discovered Boundary-Namthom-Mouk porphyry systems along a 6 km strike. The area comprising Sokdee and Vangma is considered by Annamite to be highly prospective for porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum and related gold-silver mineralization.
ARL expects to invest US$1.5 million during the next 2 years to fund an initial exploration program, allowing Annamite to acquire a 51% interest in the newly created Vangma project company, Douangchaleun Development Construction Mining Sole Co., Ltd. (DDCM). Upon completion of this programme, ARL and DDC will have the option to earn progressively more interests in DDCM through staged investments in the exploration of Vangma.
ARL will be the operator of the initial exploration programme designed jointly by ARL and DDC. ARL is owned 90% by Annamite Resources Holdings Pte. Ltd. (ARH) and 10% by two Lao individuals, current shareholders in ARH.
ARH is a private company registered in Singapore that was established in 2019 to explore for precious and base metals in Southeast Asia, with an initial focus on Laos. ARH and its Lao subsidiary ARL are currently reviewing other opportunities in Laos, a country considered highly prospective and relatively underexplored for these metals.
Annamite Resources, the junior mineral exploration company in Laos, committed to sustainable development and community engagement, has initiated a new program aimed at empowering students in the vicinity of Sokdee Project to learn the English language. This initiative, launched in Namthom village and now being expanded to include Mouk, Navay and Naphong villages, is poised to make a significant impact on the educational landscape of the region.
Located near Annamite Resources main exploration area, Namthom village is a community where access to quality education and resources can sometimes be limited. Understanding the importance of English proficiency in today’s globalized world, the company has taken proactive steps to bridge this gap and provide valuable opportunities for local students.
The English language learning program is designed to cater to students of all ages. It encompasses various interactive activities, including language classes, conversational sessions, and educational games. By adopting a holistic approach to language acquisition, Annamite Resources aims to foster a conducive learning environment that is both engaging and effective.
Moreover, the initiative goes beyond traditional classroom settings by integrating technology and multimedia resources in the future, allowing them to immerse themselves in the language and explore diverse learning opportunities.
One of the key objectives of the program is to empower students with the linguistic skills necessary for their personal and educational growth. Proficiency in English opens doors to higher education, employment opportunities, and enhanced communication on a global scale. By equipping students with this essential skill set, Annamite Resources is laying the foundation for their future success and socio-economic advancement.
The English language learning program encourages active participation from local stakeholders, including educators, parents, and community leaders, to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in meeting the needs of the community.
