Annamite Resources demonstrates their commitment to responsible drilling practices at the Sokdee Project. Prior to commencing the drilling program, thorough preparations are undertaken, starting with the design of drill holes and marking of site locations. Transparent and open discussions are held with local landholders to ensure consensus on drilling plans and potential impacts.

Annamite’s thorough preparations for drilling at the Sokdee Project

On May 22, 2023 - Annamite commenced the 2023 drilling program at our flagship Sokdee Project located 100 km north of the Laos capital, Vientiane. As before, we are committed to dealing fairly with local landholders and other stakeholders when selecting and preparing drilling sites.

Our process begins with designing drill holes, followed by marking drill site locations in the field. We then invite the landholder or their representative to inspect each site, fostering open discussions on drilling plans, associated earthworks, and potential impacts. Once agreement is reached on the boundaries of drill sites and access roads, we formalize the arrangement by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), emphasizing transparency, fair compensation, and clarity for all parties involved to foster good neighbor relationships and enhancing the overall success of exploration. Site preparation then begins using excavators or bulldozers to develop drill access roads and drill pads under the supervision of our team. Villagers’ safety remains our priority throughout this phase.

Before we commenced drilling, we invited the drilling contractor supervisor to inspect each site and access roads, guaranteeing safe access and minimum disturbance during operations. Any suggestions or changes proposed by the contractor is promptly communicated to the landholder, ensuring a collaborative decision-making process. If necessary, this may lead to the signing of a new or revised MoU.

At Annamite Resources, we recognize that successful drilling operations stem from thorough preparation, stakeholder engagement, applying good international industry practice, and adherence by all parties to health and safety protocols. Moving forward with more drilling, we prioritize site preparation including fair compensation for land access.

In total, Annamite plans to drill around 15 holes comprising some 600 meters RC and 1,800m DD before the monsoon.
