Supporting Local Communities Through Exploration Supply Partnerships
At Annamite Resources, responsible exploration extends beyond geological discovery. It also means creating practical opportunities for local communities to participate in and benefit from exploration activities wherever possible.
As part of its ongoing field operations in Laos, the Company has begun sourcing geological sample bags from community members living within its exploration areas. These bags play an important role in the collection, storage, and transport of geological samples during exploration programmes.
By engaging skilled local residents to sew and prepare the sample bags, Annamite Resources is supporting a practical local supply initiative that provides an additional source of household income while reducing reliance on imported materials where suitable local alternatives are available.
Although the initiative is still in its early stages, it reflects the Company’s broader commitment to responsible exploration and sustainable community engagement. Rather than viewing procurement solely as an operational requirement, Annamite Resources seeks opportunities where project needs can also generate tangible social and economic benefits for nearby communities.
As exploration activities continue, the Company will explore opportunities to expand and formalise this initiative through community-based sewing groups across villages within its project areas. In addition, Annamite Resources will continue identifying goods and services that can be sourced locally, helping strengthen local businesses, develop practical skills, and create more sustainable economic opportunities.
These initiatives have the potential to provide more consistent sources of income for participating households while fostering stronger, long-term relationships between the Company and local stakeholders.
For Annamite Resources, community engagement is about more than consultation. It is about creating meaningful partnerships and identifying practical ways for local people to participate in the exploration supply chain, ensuring that the benefits of responsible mineral exploration extend beyond the drill site and into the communities where the Company operates.
